Bob Stewart’s
Robert Stewart’s Spirit Grocer or ‘Bob Stewart’s as it’s known to the good folk of Drumbeg and beyond.
Established in 1620, it was formally known as the Bell Inn and is the oldest bar in Belfast.
Amazing to think that they have been serving people delicious food and perfect pints for 404 years! Think classic gastropub grub like Seared Scallops, Beer Battered Cod or Ribeye Surf and Turf with Portavogie prawns.
Like all Taste of Ulster members, the team are committed to using the best of the local larder. Suppliers include Carnbrooke Meats, North Down (Eglantine Farm) for vegetables, Elmore for seafood, Draynes Farm for dairy and some baking in-house. The Steak Nights are legendary.
The Beer Garden and outdoor terrace are dog-friendly, so it’s perfect as a pit stop after a walk along the towpath. On Sundays, there are always specials for 2 and 3 course options. Book a table online. Just lovely.
You must visit their Pop up, Rose Cottage Tea House, open from 9am – 12pm every Friday to Saturday serving delicious coffees, teas and sweet & savoury treats inside Bob’s.
Listen to the Trad session every Friday from 5pm in the bar – great entertainment.
