Now, there’s a name which is VERY well known in meat circles. K &G McAtamney is based in Ballymena, Co Antrim. It operates from a Double A Grade BRC approved premises
The business was formed by Gordon McAtamney and his father Kieran, both of whom are butchers. Kieran is now retired but Gordon remains as MD and is heavily involved in sourcing raw materials for the business, working closely with their trusted supplier partners, and casting his critical butcher’s eye over all meat coming into the plant for processing.
They employ 90 staff and have almost completed a factory extension which will allow them to increase our production space to almost 40,000sq feet. They hope to be operational early August 2024.
They process Beef, Lamb, Pork, and Poultry on site, producing retail packed Steaks, Joints, Fillets and creating ready to cook meal solutions as well as Summer Eating and Christmas ranges. They pack in their own Meat Market brand as well as customer own labels.
Their beef is UK and Irish and is aged on site to give added consistency of Product. They see themselves very much as butchers who strive to add value to the meats they process. They pride themselves in the quality, innovation, and range breadth of their products.
