Irish Black Butter
Irish Black Butter featured on the popular BBC programme; Dragons Den series 17 episode one. Based on an old traditional recipe; Irish Black Butter is made with Euro PGI Status Armagh Bramley Apples, local cider, brandy and spices and is produced locally. On the BBC programme; Dragons Den; the Dragons praised Irish Black Butter saying ‘I actually love it,’ ‘It is beautiful,’ and It’s really lovely.’
Irish Black Butter is also multi award winning. In the Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Awards 2019; Irish Black Butter was awarded Three Stars and was one of only eight local producers to achieve this prestigious accolade. The Great Taste awards judges were suitably impressed and said; ‘A rich dark and sumptuous spread. Rich and decadent. This is a versatile and incredible product. Wide application for this, ice cream, apple pie with a dollop of cream and this drizzled through, also great as a chicken and pork marinade or glaze. This is fabulous, so intense, fruity, complex and with such a brilliant glossy sticky colour. Lovely, beautifully made. Awards
At the International Cheese & Dairy Awards Nantwich 2019 Irish Black Butter achieved two bronze awards in the Cheese Accompaniment Awards. In 2018 Irish Black Butter received Chefs Choice Award at the Blas na h'Eireann Irish Food Awards. Irish Black Butter received a Gold Award at the 2024 Irish Quality Food Awards in the condiments category. Shortlisted in the Quality Food Awards in London (results on 7th November) again in the condiments category. They are a finalist in the Good Food Ireland Awards at The K Club on 11th November.
