Dart Mountain is in the Sperrin Range in Northern Ireland. It gives its name to this
multi-award-winning company whose base is in its shadow.
They started off making cheese in 2009, using local milk. They still handmake those
artisan cheeses, from Banagher Bold (washed in local craft ale, Gold Winner at the
World Cheese Awards 2015, to Tirkeeran, the ash-coated Dart Mountain Dusk
(Bronze World Cheese Awards 2014); Sperrin Blue (Silver Irish and UK Artisan
Cheese Awards 2018) the Alpine style Kilcreen (Great Taste Gold Star 2015),
Carraig Bán Goats Milk and the newest Meeny Hill and Meeny Hill Blue
Drizzles made from local brews and chutneys really complement the cheeses.
Their Dart Mountain Cheese Experience, and Derry’s Famous Beer and Cheese tour
are experiences worth savouring include the opportunity to meet the producer and
sample the award-winning products.
