APPLE JAMES LIMITED
Have you ever heard of iced cider? That’s what James Mackle of Apple James
makes with Armagh apples. It is called Aghinlig Orchard Armagh Ice Cider.
This award-winning drink is made in small batches. It is sweet and smooth like a
dessert wine, with pleasant touches of appley acidity and honey.
They are aged for a full year then aged in a chestnut barrel before bottling. Each
bottle can vary from batch to batch, making drinking it a unique experience.
Great Taste judges gave it 3 stars in 2024, which meant it was in the running for a
Golden Fork.
Two other ciders are also produced with apples grown on the Roses family farm in
the heart of the Orchard County. They are Golden Parnell Dry Cider and Malic Malus
Sour Cider. The apples are harvested in autumn and pressed to make the apple
juice in all of the products.
Made with patience and time to perfect.
