Clayton Hotel
You may have known this Belfast city centre hotel as the Holiday Inn but it was renamed in July 2015. It has 170 rooms and plenty of space for weddings, conferences and functions. Since the takeover they have put a strong influence on local produce. Suppliers include Keenan Seafood’s, Northern Smokehouse and Wilson’s Potatoes. Their steaks are dry-aged in a salt chamber in Inch Abbey. Their carrots come from Eglinton and the eggs are from North Down.
Foodwise their style is traditional with a modern twist. They have tried to keep the menu light and free from too many heavy creamy sauces. Everything is cooked fresh to order and where possible is made in-house. They source the best ingredients from local suppliers so they can give their customers a real taste of what’s on offer in Northern Ireland.
Signature dishes include Salt and Chilli Squid, Medallions of Monkfish wrapped in Parma Ham with a mango, radish and rocket salad and watermelon salsa. They do a mean 8oz beef burger and they say their steaks are as good as you will get.
Start your day the clean way with their Vitality breakfast which includes homemade power shots, muesli, granola and fresh fruit. There’s a traditional breakfast buffet and gluten-free options too. Something for everyone!
