Findgoodlocalfood.com attended Comber Potato Festival Saturday
7th June showcasing the best there is in local food in the council areas of Ards, Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon, Down and Newry & Mourne.
Exhibitors included Forthill Farm; Krazi Baker; Fosters Chocolates; Simply Irresistible; Eva Paris Macaroons; Conway Summer Fruits; Harnett’s Oils; Corporate Crepe Company; and Red Dog Sauces. Despite the continuous rain throughout the day, the exhibitors still managed to entice those who braved the weather to come along to the festival to purchase freshly-baked breads; gourmet beef burgers; organic meats; sweets and fudge; dipping oils and vinegars; bbq sauces and decadent macaroons.
Findgoodlocalfood.com is part of the SEED (South East Economic Development) Forum set up by the six council areas and is an ongoing initiative to establish a regional food network and develop the potential of promoting food collectively as a tourism product.
The project is funded by the Councils of Ards, Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon, Down, Newry& Mourne along with Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland.
