Double Great Taste Awards Success for Mash Direct
Northern Irish Food Companies top the podium at this year’s Great Taste Awards. Over seventy local producers were awarded for the quality and taste of their produce.

Mash Direct, the unique award-winning County Down farming and food production enterprise, which produces an innovative range of convenient potato and vegetable dishes, has been recognised with Great Taste Awards for two of its products; Carrot and Parsnip and Carrot, Turnip and Parsnip. This brings the total number of Great Taste Awards won to date by Mash Direct to an impressive 16. Regarded as the industry Oscars, The Guild of Fine Food’s annual Great Taste Awards are the UK’s largest independent evaluation of fine food and drink.
The judges commented that the Mash Direct Carrot and Parsnip had good, clean honest flavours with a good balance of carrot and parsnip and a pleasant level of sweetness, whilst they praised the Carrot, Turnip and Parsnip as having sweet root vegetables aromas.

Mash Direct steam cook and package all of their vegetables on the farm with bespoke machinery to recreate traditional cooking styles and keep all of the goodness inside the vegetables securing the taste and texture of homemade food to make sure that it is as good as our Granny’s.
