The Big Cheese and Beer Expo is a 3 day celebration of local cheese & beer offering a platform for local producers and craft brewers to showcase their work in the festival marquee in Guildhall Square.

This event builds upon the success of events including Culture Tech and Sippy of Culture to celebrate the best of Beer and Cheese from across the North West and beyond.

The event will feature quality cheese producers and craft brewers and aims to uncover a new story in the North West and Northern Ireland for exceptional food, cheese production and craft beer whilst growing the demand for local craft beer and cheese.

The event will take place in the Festival Marquee in Guildhall Square on:

• Friday 15th April – 5pm to 10pm
• Saturday 16th April – 1pm – 6pm & 7pm- 11pm
• Sunday 17th April – 1pm to 5pm

This family friendly event will include searing cook offs and cheese and beer inspired demonstrations from some of Derry’s culinary stars from local restaurants. Celebrity guest Sean Wilson – who played Martin Platt in Coronation Street – will be giving live demos during the Saturday daytime event. Sean has embarked on a new career and is now an award-winning cheese maker, having spent a year training as a chef – fulfilling his secret lifelong passion of working in a kitchen.

Try some locally produced cheese and for the adults, sample some of the North Wests finest craft beers. Visit the boulevard of food providers who will be offering cheese and beer themed dishes featuring the best of the regions local craft beer & cheeses.

The Festival Marquee will have plenty of family fun with pop up puppeteers, face painting, culinary themed arts and crafts plus lots more.

At night the marquee will be transformed into an adult only event giving you the opportunity to enjoy the best of the regions craft beer, sample a cheese plate of the finest local cheese or visit the boulevard of food providers who will be offering the best of local cheese and beer inspired dishes all while being entertained by some fantastic musicians and upcoming stars.
